Iran vows to stop "some" oil sales as inspectors visit

TEHRAN (Reuters) – Iran sent conflicting signals in a dispute with the West over its nuclear ambitions, vowing to stop oil exports soon to “some” countries but postponing a parliamentary debate on a proposed halt to crude sales to the European Union. School bans fuzzy boots used to hide cell phones

PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) – Singer Nancy Sinatra may have had boots made for walking, but she never attended Pottstown Middle School. Starting Monday the Philadelphia suburban district is banning the wearing of fuzzy open-top boots, including the popular Ugg brand, to middle school classes because students have been stashing cell phones in the loose footwear, according to district director of community relations John Armato. “Cell phones are a problem for obvious reasons,” Armato said. …

Fitch cuts Italy, Spain, other euro zone ratings

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Fitch downgraded the sovereign credit ratings of Belgium, Cyprus, Italy, Slovenia and Spain on Friday, indicating there was a 1-in-2 chance of further cuts in the next two years. In a statement, the ratings agency said the affected countries were vulnerable in the near-term to monetary and financial shocks. “Consequently, these sovereigns do not, in Fitch’s view, accrue the full benefits of the euro’s reserve currency status,” it said. …

RIM CEO eyes "significant" plans for BlackBerry

NEW YORK (Reuters) – Research in Motion’s Thorsten Heins plans to waste no time in his new job. The BlackBerry maker’s chief executive said he will present the board with his plan for company’s future in just a matter of weeks.
